Syracuse is a city in, and the county seat of, Onondaga County, New York, in the United States. It is the largest U.S. city with the name " Syracuse ", and is the fifth most populous city in the state of New York following New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, and Yonkers. The Town of Lyons is in the south-central part of the county and contains a hamlet also named Lyons, formerly a village. It is located on the Erie Canal, and is the county seat of Wayne County.
